Don’t go on cruises. Learn to swim. Don’t watch poorly constructed sensationalist documentaries on Netflix. Oh sorry, that last one’s just for me. Lots of credit being given to God here. And a lot of blame being apportioned to the Captain - but then chucking in, right at the end, that it’s actually a bit more nuanced than that. After 15 years it felt like the crew and victims deserved a much deeper dive (no pun intended). That said, kudos to the editor for ending it on that last line. Nothing like a complete tonal shift to lighten the mood.

People died, and the documentary didn’t even take a moment to acknowledge them. Not even a title card with their names. I was left with so many questions, both about the events themselves and the documentary’s storytelling choices.
