Klaus is one of those rare holiday films that feels both classic and new. It takes a familiar Santa-origin framework and gives it emotional weight through a selfish-to-selfless character arc, a wintry setting that feels almost tactile, and animation that is genuinely gorgeous in its lighting, textures, and movement.

“What happened to him after that, how, why, I can't even begin to comprehend. I stopped trying to make sense of it a long time ago. But I do know: once, every year, I get to see my friend.” just a truly incredible animation style. perfect for a story this sweet. loved every moment with the kids and every moment where you go “ohhh that’s how that part of the santa myth happened.” yea i cried again this time, but not as much! docked half a star because the one song is just... not good. mood ruining, even! not all gifts are good. klaus

Breathtaking animation and character design. Really enjoyed this despite some bizarre music choices and a pretty familiar story. Lots of treasure planet in this movie too if that means anything to you. Shame the only way to get films like this is to make them Christmas themed and aimed for children.
